Gary was born in 1964 in East Ham, London. On leaving school in 1980 became an apprentice professional footballer at Arsenal Football Club. After being  released by Arsenal in 1982 Gary pursued a carrer in physiotherapy qualifying in June 1986. During this training, Gary maintained a relationship with Arsenal and worked for the club on a part-time basis working with the youth and reserve teams.

Once qualified, Gary worked at Guy’s Hospital as a Junior Physiotherapist before being offered the First Team Physiotherapist job at Arsenal Football Club in September 1986.  Gary worked at Arsenal Football Club for twenty-two years before leaving on 31st July 2008.

In 1996 he was appointed to the England Senior Men’s football team, working part-time.  Gary took part in three FIFA World Cup Finals in 1998 (France), 2002 (Japan and Korea) and 2006 (Germany), two UEFA European Championship Finals in 2000 (Holland and Belgium)  and 2004 (Portugal).

Finally Gary was appointed Head of Physiotherapy Services to the FA and Physiotherapist to the England Senior Men’s team on 1st August 2008.

Gary went to the 2010 FIFA World Cup Finals (South Africa), the 2011 FIFA Under 20 World Cup Finals (Colombia), the 2013 FIFA Under 20 World Cup Finals, the Euro 2012 Championships in Poland and Ukraine, he was also a part of Team GB for the 2012 Olympics working with the Team GB Football Team, went to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Finals (Brazil) and went to the Euro 2016 Championships in France. Other than football Gary also enjoys enjoy cricket and rugby.

Gary is also a trustee to Brain and Spine Foundation Charity, Ambassador to the Willow Foundation Charity and Trustee to Rainbow Nation Charity.
