Ian is an Australian Physiotherapist and has five years of clinical experience since graduating from the University of Queensland in 2012. Ian has moved to London and left his Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine practice in Brisbane after hearing that the weather was better over here!
Ian has a very hands-on approach to his therapy using innovative treatments to achieve great results with his clients. He has a particular interest in rehabilitating neck, thoracic and lower back conditions using highly effective manual therapy and soft tissue therapy techniques. Ian also has a passion for identifying, diagnosing and correcting lower limb biomechanical issues via targeted soft tissue and acupuncture/dry needling in conjunction with exercise therapy using Pilates and evidence based sports specific rehabilitation.
Ian has several years of experience working for professional rugby league and union teams at a state and national level as the Head Physiotherapist. Competitions in which Ian has worked include the World Rugby Seven’s, National Rugby League (NRL), National Rugby Championship (NRC) and Queensland Cup Rugby League. In these roles Ian delivers pre-season physical screening and injury prevention, acute and emergency on field injury assessment and management, and sports specific rehabilitation, strength and conditioning. These roles have enabled him to work within elite medical teams of Sports Physicians, Orthopaedic Surgeons and Exercise Physiologists.
Ian has also worked in a private hospital orthopaedic setting working on a vast number of post-operative conditions from Day 1 right through to full rehabilitation. Two of Ian’s favourite conditions to work with are ACL reconstructions and rotator cuff repairs.
Ian is from outback Australia and spent his formative years living and working as a Jackaroo on a large sheep and cattle farm in Western Queensland. He is a devout sports fanatic and has a particular passion for rugby union, tennis, golf and cricket, and enjoys a chat about any Australian Ashes victory. Currently, he enjoys running, travelling and playing rock ballads on his guitar.
